In its 11 years in business, the company grew from a San Francisco Bay Area firm specializing in IT relocations to a global IT services provider with locations in the U.S. as well as Canada, Europe, Israel, Africa, and the Philippines. The company was founded in 1997, and has grown rapidly each year since the company was launched.

In 2006, MILESTONE formed MILESTONE Integration Services Limited in Ireland to pursue business opportunities in EMEA and deliver services to clients operating in this region. In 2006 and 2007, MILESTONE was named to the Fast 50 List, as one of the fastest growing private companies in the Bay Area. In 2008, the company formed MILESTONE Canada. Today, with over 700 employees, MILESTONE operates in locations in 11 countries and supports clients in over 25 countries.

MILESTONE’s service offerings are in three categories: managed services, deployments, and relocations. The largest portion of MILESTONE’s operations is in managed services. Managed services projects involve clients outsourcing to MILESTONE a cluster of IT infrastructure support or department functions. In a managed service engagement, MILESTONE develops a customized solution for the client. Next, a service delivery team is assigned, and this team implements the solution which MILESTONE manages on an ongoing basis for the client.

Deployments are rollouts of new technology (for example Microsoft Office 2007) on a wide scale. In a deployment, MILESTONE takes full responsibility for the entire process or will manage a piece of the process. MILESTONE has developed a specialized methodology and process for deployment projects.

The original service offering MILESTONE was founded upon is IT relocations. MILESTONE’s relocateIT team disconnects, moves, and reconnects several types of IT hardware (desktop systems, phones, servers, datacenters, labs, and network infrastructure). Many of MILESTONE’s ongoing managed service relationships grew from clients being introduced to MILESTONE via a relocation project.
