1. ASSESSMENT The first step in the MILESTONE process begins with an initial assessment. A MILESTONE Account Team meets with the client project leaders to understand the firm’s objectives, success criteria, timeline and budget. This first step is at no cost and will provide a clear preview of the required integration efforts. MILESTONE’s complete integration timeline and project proposal are presented following the assessment. 2. PROOF OF CONCEPTMILESTONE recommends a Proof of Concept (PoC) project to assist the overall implementation and integration of Macs. The PoC examines the subject network, email system, Active Directory, desktop applications, current hardware and software (including cell phones and O/S standards). During the PoC, a very small end-user group is identified to be the first Mac users. Typically, the client should have at least 10 users or 2% of a total company population, whichever is greater. MILESTONE will provide a quick interview to understand the client’s computing requirements. This will require the analysis of the current hardware, software, support structure and mobility requirements (if applicable). This will ensure a seamless end-user transition between computing platforms as Macs are brought onto the network. 3. PILOT PROGRAMThe MILESTONE assessment, PoC engagement and engineering work are fully documented in the pilot program database. Here applications, software, system settings, virtualization requirements and any required network requirements are documented. This information will provide a strong fundamental reference to assist in the overall plan for the migration of PC users to Macs or for new Mac users. With the completion of the PoC, MILESTONE will recommend a larger population (between 5% and 10% of a company’s total population) to be migrated to Macs. 4. LAUNCHWith the proven PoC in place, MILESTONE works with clients to gather information to include Macs on their approved vendor list. At this point, MILESTONE will recommend the efforts and scope of work for the addition and integration of Macs.
